Describe the support you actually need
Begin with practical requirements rather than a general accessible-tour label. Explain whether you need step-free routes, space for a mobility device, shorter walking sections or regular seated breaks. Ask the operator to respond point by point. Accessibility varies between people and places, so a broad reassurance is less useful than specific information about the vehicle, entrances, surfaces and activities on the route you are considering.
Ask about the journey between attractions
A venue may have an accessible entrance while the path from the drop-off point remains difficult. Request the approximate distance, surface and any steps involved. Check how much room the vehicle has for equipment and whether boarding assistance is provided. If a transfer would involve lifting or carrying, discuss it explicitly and decide whether the arrangement is appropriate for you. Do not leave a critical access question until pickup.
Break down walking and standing time
Ask for the longest continuous walking section and whether seating is available at each stop. Heat and humidity can make an otherwise modest route tiring. A shorter tour with a useful rest break may be more enjoyable than an all-day schedule. Confirm toilet access with the operator or venues, and identify which stops can be skipped without leaving you waiting somewhere unsuitable.
Treat boats and tunnels separately
For Mekong or river products, ask about boat entry, handholds, seating and safety equipment. For Cu Chi, establish above-ground alternatives and whether tunnel entry is optional. These activities need their own assessment rather than inheriting a general city-tour description. Request current photographs or direct venue information when that would help you judge the setup, and choose an alternative if essential details remain unclear.
Keep the agreement with the booking
Summarize confirmed arrangements in writing, including the equipment space, route changes and assistance that will be provided. Ask who to contact if the vehicle or guide changes. Read cancellation terms in light of any unresolved requirements before payment. A provider willing to discuss specifics helps you make an informed choice. The goal is a day you can participate in comfortably, with the important details understood in advance.
